James Paterson’s maiden speech proves the 28-year-old Liberal senator will shake things up

The Liberal Party’s youngest ever senator is preparing to pursue radical reforms, including throwing out the national curriculum, relocating the Australian Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and reimposing a debt ceiling.

Vowing to respect voters’ intelligence, scrap talking points and speak plainly, newly installed senator James Paterson has told Fairfax Media he had no intention of staying in Parliament for the sake of it.
