Anne Frank Center demand Tim Allen apologise for ‘deeply offensive’ ‘1930s Germany’ remark

Tim Allen faced swift backlash after comparing being a conservative in Hollywood to living under Nazi persecution in 1930s Germany.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday, the Last Man Standing actor and outspoken Republican discussed attending Donald Trump‘s inauguration and the state of politics in America today.

“You get beat up if you don’t believe what everyone else believes,” the former Home Improvement star said. “This is like 1930s Germany.”

The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect – which “aims to call out prejudice, counter discrimination and advocate for the kinder and fairer world of which Anne Frank dreamed” – fired back the next day, calling the comments “deeply offensive” and demanded an apology from the 63-year-old.
