White House spokesman Sean Spicer shows an astonishing ignorance of history when describing the Assad regime.
The reaction to this comment has been fierce:
Someone as despicable as Hitler didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons.
Apart from the gassing of six million Jews, plus gypsies and many others.
Spicer then clarifies, but the phrase “innocent people” does not help:
