Zagga chief executive Alan Greenstein was 16 when he tore ligaments in both feet while hiking in Israel. His mates carried him on a stretcher made of lashed-together rifles. He answers our Traveller Q&A.
First, business or economy?
In my previous life (as managing director of a banking group in a country far away), first class. These days, invariably economy, given that my travel is mostly local. If overseas, I am happy to fly premium economy. A strong sleeping pill and a decent single malt can make any seat feel like a bed.
Actually, I love cruising and waking up in a different city every day. But if I had to pick just one place, it would be Israel. It’s my spiritual home and fast becoming the most innovative country in the world. It never sleeps. The cultures, sights, sounds and food are fantastic. You can get from the top of the country to the bottom in a few hours. And, every time you visit, the experience is different – but better.
