Prime Minister Scott Morrison accuses NSW Labor Party of ‘behaving in an anti-semitic way’

The Prime Minister has sparked uproar in Parliament, accusing the New South Wales Labor Party of “behaving in an anti-Semitic way”.

It brought howls of “disgraceful” and ”not fit to be prime minister” from the Opposition benches, as Labor tried to force Scott Morrison to withdraw the comment.

However, Speaker, Tony Smith, didn’t request it, instead issuing an overall warning about the standards of parliamentary behaviour.

The outrage came as Labor asked a series of questions about the government’s decision to consider moving the Australian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and recognising it as the legitimate capital, an announcement that’s brought widespread condemnation and concern from Islamic countries.

And, he was asked about a leaked top secret ASIO bulletin, issued the day before his announcement, that warned such a move might “provoke protest, unrest and possibly some violence in Gaza and the West Bank”.
