Take him literally, and Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, will, on July 1, start annexing 30 percent of the West Bank. International condemnation for the plan has flowed. But Ambassador Dennis Ross tells PM Netanyahu sees an historic chance to redraw the starting point for any future negotiations with the Palestinians. But he has only a “blinking yellow light” from Washington, as he cherry picks the Trump Administration’s Middle East plan. His rival and coalition partner, Benny Gantz, also says Israel should take the whole plan not just part of it, also declaring the fighting COVID-19 is a priority over annexation. So will it happen?
