Israel, UAE and Bahrain sign Trump-brokered “peace” deal

The White House is claiming a new deal to normalise relations between Israel and two Arab nations is the dawn of a “new era” in the Middle East and the beginning of the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

But instead of bringing about “peace”, the deal seems to simply formalise an existing alliance between the three nations against a common enemy – Iran.

The deal has been criticised by Palestinians and may have involved the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
