Calls for Iran probe after Kylie Moore-Gilbert release

Relief continues to flow after the release of Australian-British dual national Kylie Moore-Gilbert, as she prepares for two weeks of quarantine before finally emerging as a free woman.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison declined to confirm if Australia took part in a prisoner swap to help free the academic, describing her release as a “miracle”.

It’s been reported today that the government used back channel contacts to negotiate with Tehran, and that Australia’s ambassador to Thailand lobbied Thai officials to release three Iranian terrorists in exchange for Kylie Moore-Gilbert.
