Who are you now? On identity in flux

All of us have an identity – an idea of who we are and our place in the world. But is identity fixed, or constantly in flux? On God Forbid, we explore some big questions and hear the personal experiences of our panellists this Mardi Gras.

In this episode:

As we go through life, we accumulate many roles – we’re a child, parent, sibling or cousin – and outside of the home we’re employers, employees, students, or members of society. So, is our identity just an amalgamation of all these roles we take on? Or is there an essential inner self that exists?

Ancient Jewish holidays don’t normally strike one as the most festive on the multicultural calendar. But perhaps that’s a misconception that needs addressing. Why is the Jewish festival of Purim a time for fun and partying?
