Israel introduces rapid COVID testing for people refusing to take vaccine

The Israeli government has introduced rapid-paced testing for people who do not want to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

More than half of Israel’s 9.3 million citizens have received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine leading to a significant drop in coronavirus cases.

However, the rollout ran into opposition within the Arab and ultra-orthodox Jewish communities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut a deal with the CEO of Pfizer during the pandemic and procured vaccines at a premium in exchange for sharing health data.
