An anti-Semitic sticker has been placed on the Adelaide Holocaust Museum

An anti-Semitic sticker has been placed on the Adelaide Holocaust Museum in the latest act of vandalism at the building.

The Adelaide Holocaust Museum and Andrew Steiner Education Centre have been targeted with an anti-Semitic sticker.

Centre director Kathy Baykitch said a sticker was stuck to a sign at the front door of the museum in Wakefield St, calling for a ban of the museum with the symbol of the Star of David.

Ms Baykitch told ABC that the sticker was not generic.

“You’re not born a racist, you’re not born to hate … we hope that by educating people and the wide community about the events of the holocaust, we can make a difference so people feel inclined to stand up and call out this type of prejudice,” said Ms Baykitch.

The museum said they were concerned about rising anti-Semitic activity globally and in Australia.

The museum is opposite SAPOL headquarters and Ms Baykitch said they have followed their usual processes to report the incident.

“It’s an opportunity for us to highlight the importance of our education program.”
