A world that remembers the Holocaust | IHRA

The weekly Lockdown Learning conversations might be over, but the ZFA will continue to bring you exceptional speakers. The first of these will be on Thursday 10 December, when Yossi Goldfarb, newly installed president of Zionism Victoria (and a Lockdown Learning moderator) will be in conversation with Prof Dina Porat, Chief Historian of Yad Vashem, and Michaela Küchler, the German ambassador to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).

Co-hosted by the Israeli and German embassies in Australia, this special event will see Prof Porat and Ambassador Küchler discuss the related issues of a decreasing awareness of the Holocaust and the antisemitism that led to it, and the resurgence of antisemitism around the world today. Germany holds the rotating presidency of IHRA, and is one of 28 countries that have officially adopted the IHRA working definition of antisemitism. Australia is a full member of IHRA, but has yet to adopt the working definition.
