POLITICS, religion and bagels don’t usually mix.
But a St Kilda East resident is bringing them together in his latest comedy show.
Michael Shafar is debuting Jewish-ish at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
“The show is about growing up Jewish and the pressures and expectations that come along with that,” Shafar said.
Shafar, who has a law degree, has been doing comedy for just three years and is already making his mark.
He was a RAW Comedy National Finalist last year, he represented Australia in the Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World Competition and hosted Channel 31’s The Leak.
