An outspoken Jewish activist has slammed a decision to ban the construction of a synagogue at Sydney‘s Bondi Beach, claiming the ruling is a ‘submission to Islamic terror’.
The Land and Environment Court on Wednesday backed Waverley Council’s decision to prohibit the construction, partly because the place of worship could become a terrorist target.
The decision has enraged Jewish leaders who claim the community is being prevented from practicing its religion because of the threat of Islamic extremism.
