The 2018 Giro D’Italia will begin in Jerusalem, Israel next year — the first time a Grand Tour has started outside of Europe.
The battle for the maglia rosa will start on May 4, with the first of the three stages taking place in Israel.
The second stage from Haifa to Tel Aviv takes in the first mountain climbs of the race, while the third stage from Be’er Sheva to Eilat, finishes with a long descent.
