Officers from the Australian Federal Police conducted an interview with casino billionaire James Packer this week on behalf of Israeli authorities investigating gratuities allegedly provided to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A Federal Police spokeswoman said Mr Packer, the major shareholder of Crown Resorts, was a witness in the case and he had given his full cooperation.
“Mr Packer is not suspected of criminal conduct in either Israel or Australia with respect to this investigation,” she said.
Israeli authorities are reportedly investigating whether Mr Packer and one of his business associates, Arnon Milchan, provided gifts to Mr Netanyahu and his family.
