PREMIER Daniel Andrews touched down in Israel today as part of an unprecedented five day medical and technology tour.
Mr Andrews and his entourage will travel to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Athens in Greece, during the first official visit to the area since Steve Bracks visited in 2005.
He had flagged the pending visit to the Jewish media in November.
The trip was originally scheduled for August, however the plan was abandoned following the death of Victorian Labor MP Fiona Richardson.
While on tour, Mr Andrews will meet with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yuval Rotem, President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras.
He will be investigating medical research and autonomous technology.
