ASSISTANT Treasurer Stuart Robert will reconsider his plans to host a holy tour of Israel next year.
Mr Robert, who is a Pentecostal Christian, was promoted as the co-host of a “Treasures of Grace” tour of the Holy Land organised by the Gold Coast-based Metro Church. Interested travellers could pay $5600 to join the “trip of a lifetime.”
Highlights included a visit to the “Via Dolorosa (the way of sorrows) where He carried the cross” and a sunset boat ride on the Sea of Galilee at sunset.
A spokesman for Mr Robert on Saturday said the trip was entirely at his own cost and he was not obtaining any benefit.
He said it was arranged last year prior to his appointment to the ministry.
