Israel suspends Hebron observer force

This ABC news report that was broadcast at 9 am on January 31st talks about the announcement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office that it will not extend the mandate of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron, an international observer group.

European officials have said they regret this decision by Israel and the report reminds us of the Jewish settler (Baruch Goldstein) who killed 29 Palestinians in 1994.

Palestinian Authority spokesperson Saeb Erekat says that Israel doesn’t have the right to terminate the agreement from one side.
