“30 years is too long”: Israel election a reckoning for Netanyahu

Israel’s longest-serving Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is fighting for his political survival today as the country votes in its second national election in a year.

Mr Netanyahu sent voters back to the polls when he failed to form a coalition government after an election in April.

The subsequent campaign has been described as the nastiest in the nation’s history.
