A former leader at an Orthodox Jewish centre in St Kilda East has been extradited to New South Wales to face historic sexual assault charges.
David Samuel Cyprys, 51, was wanted over a sexual assault and act of indecency offence that occurred in the Sydney suburb of Bondi in the 1980s.
He was arrested on Wednesday by Ararat police shortly after leaving Hopkins Correctional Centre, and taken to Ballarat Magistrates Court, where a magistrate approved a NSW Police Force extradition order.

[Editor: Cyprys worked variously as a security guard, locksmith, martial arts instructor and school camp leader at St Kilda’s Yeshivah College. This hardly qualifies the journalist at The Age to refer to Cyprys as a former leader.]
