Jewish people have enriched us, yet we repay them with anti-Semitism

Where would Western civilisation be without the Jews (“Age-old hatred re-emerges right out of left field”, 14/11)? In religion, science, literature, music and across the whole field of human endeavour, the Jewish people have enriched us immeasurably, yet we have repaid them with pogroms and the Holocaust.

The elements of the far left and right that revel in anti-Semitism reveal how hateful and disgusting some people can be. I would be proud to be a Jew but I think I would fail the test.
