Celebrated poet and author Naomi is the daughter of an American artist and a Palestinian-born journalist who met in the middle of America after a series of quite strange coincidences.
When she was a teenager, Naomi’s family spent a few years living in Jerusalem. There she formed an intense connection with her paternal grandmother, who lived to 106, and featured in much of her later work.
One of Naomi’s most well-known and enduring poems is ‘Kindness’. It was written on her honeymoon, after a terrifying episode in Colombia.
