Jewish Care opens Melbourne city building

Jewish Care in Victoria has opened the nine-storey Hannah & Daryl Cohen Family Building on St Kilda Road and welcomed 93 residents from its Montefiore Homes site.

The new building is the provider’s first home designed around the small household Hand-in-Hand model of care and includes seven households up to 16 residents each and two dementia care houses.

Each household takes up a floor and there are two floors for community services  including health and medical facilities, financial, rehabilitation, day therapy and employment services and education and social spaces.

Jewish Care volunteers created greeting cards and put together individual housewarming gifts to welcome residents to their new home.

Jewish Care residential home manager – Windsor Nicole Bull said the residents have been eagerly waiting to move to the new building.
