The US President Donald Trump has announced the United Arab Emirates will become the first gulf Arab nation to recognise Israel.
The UAE says it will normalise relations with Israel in exchange for the Israeli Government suspending plans to annex parts of the Palestinian Territories in the West Bank.
The move upends decades of foreign policy from Arab nations that refused to have formal relations with Israel until it made peace with the Palestinians.
