Qld election 2020: Man escorted away by police after calling KAP candidate a ‘Nazi’

A Townsville man has been escorted from a polling booth by police for calling a Katter Australia Party candidate a Nazi.

In a fiery exchange caught on camera, KAP candidate for Townsville Joshua Schwarz and a local, later identified as Pat Coleman, are seen exchanging taunts outside the polling booth at Mundingburra State School on Saturday morning.

The Labor seats of Townsville, Mundingburra and Thuringowa are held by small margins.

Mr Schwarz is seen blasting Mr Coleman as a “liar” and a “disgrace”.

The Courier Mail reports Mr Coleman called Schwarz a “Nazi” before police were called and he was led off the grounds.

A QPS spokeswoman confirmed a man was issued with a move-on direction by police.
