AN ISRAELI court has delayed the extradition of an Australian principal facing 74 charges for alleged sexual misconduct with girls under her care.
Malka Leifer was the head of the Orthodox Jewish Adass Israel School in Melbourne.
She failed to appear in the Jerusalem District Court – for the eighth time – but her lawyers successfully argued she was too psychiatrically unwell to face extradition.
Ms Leifer fled Australia in 2008, allegedly aided by members of Melbourne’s Adass Israel community.
She was placed under house arrest in Israel in 2014.
