Mendel Glick, the famous founder of Glicks bagels, has died aged 92.
Mr Glick was behind the iconic chain that is credited for bringing European-style boiled bagels to Melbourne more than 30 years ago.
Until very recently, he could be spotted working in the Balaclava bakery.
The patriarch died in the early hours of Sunday morning in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, 91, and more than 170 children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, who are spread all over world.
