ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to join Malcolm Turnbull, Bill Shorten and 2000 other visiting Australians and New Zealanders this week to commemorate the centenary of the victory at the battle of Beersheba.
The highlight of what will be a solemn day of commemoration is a planned re-enactment at dusk tomorrow of the charge of the Australian Light Horse.
Thousands of Australians are in Israel in preparation for the day of remembrance.
Mr Turnbull said he was honoured to represent Australia at Beersheba, where 31 Australians were killed.
A commemorative service at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Beersheba War Cemetery to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of the men and women who served in, or supported, the Battle of Beersheba and Sinai — Palestine Campaign will be broadcast live on ABC TV at 6pm tomorrow.
