Archaeologists in Israel have uncovered a clay seal impression believed to have belonged to a Biblical governor of Jerusalem.
The ABC reports the 2,700-year-old artefact was unearthed near the plaza of the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The coin-sized seal bears the ancient Hebrew inscription, “belonging to the governor of the city”.
The Israel Antiquities Authority says the item supports the existence of a Biblical governor of Jerusalem 2,700 years ago.
