Former soldiers shedding light on the Israel-Palestine conflict

More than a hundred Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire during protests on the Gaza border in recent weeks.

Israel says it’s defending itself against a Hamas inspired threat, but critics say Israel’s military reaction to the protests was excessive.

PM speaks to former Israeli sergeant and paratrooper, Avner Gvaryahu, who heads the group Breaking the Silence.

The group consists of former Israeli soldiers who publish testimony of what they call the routine violence and abuse deployed by the IDF, in which they have participated.

Gvaryahu is in Australia to help launch Kingdom of Olives and Ash, a book of essays by international authors on the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
