Netanyahu orders ‘massive strikes’ on militants in Gaza as hostilities continue

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to continue “massive strikes” against Gaza militants as a surge in cross-border hostilities runs into a third day.

Four Israelis civilians and at least 15 Palestinians, including a pregnant mother and her baby, have been killed in the fighting.

Israel says more than 600 rockets and other projectiles have been fired into Israel since Friday, prompting retaliatory attacks against some 260 targets in Gaza.

The flare-up comes just a month after a truce was brokered by Egypt and the United Nations.

Listen to the report from the ABC RN Breakfast program.

[Editor: This typically biased ABC report shows an image of rockets being fired into Gaza thus de-emphasising the root cause which has been an unprecedented assault by Islamic jihad firing of over 600 rockets into Israel. The mention in the story that the casualties have included a pregnant mother and her baby is extremely misleading as Israel has reported that the death of the mother and her baby was caused by a misfired rocket from Gaza. And here is a screenshot from ABC News (5/5/19) demonstrating the appalling misrepresentation of the situation in Gaza:

Such wrongful reporting only helps to create hostility and hatred for Israel.]
