Islamic Council of Victoria president Adel Salman in a vicious Israelophobic speech in Melbourne at the weekend has condemned Israel for having the temerity to defend itself against Palestinian terrorism. His poisonous views, tantamount to hate speech, are not in keeping with our sense of fair-mindedness that we have come to expect in Australia. His divisive speech will not only generate contempt for Israel, but it is more than likely to lead to an increase in antisemitism.
