Liberal Senator Jane Hume says comments comparing Israel to the Nazis from former Greens candidate Julian Burnside were profoundly offensive and rightly condemned.
“It wasn’t an accident. Julian Burnside may be foolish but he is intelligent,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.
“He knew exactly what he was doing by putting out this highly provocative tweet.
“This sort of anti-Semitism is extraordinarily awful.”
