The future hub of Sydney’s Jewish community – the expansive $95m Hakoah Club development at Paddington – may feature a rock climbing wall as part of proposed modifications to the major project.

A number of changes have been put forward by the Jewish community group which is set to include tennis courts, cricket, basketball, netball, football and soccer fields, as well as a cafe and restaurant.

In the plans lodged with Woollahra Council, the proposed modifications include a rock climbing wall on the edge of the approved multi-use courts.

The club has also amended the design for the Glenmore Rd entryway with an additional wall for signage that will be easily identified from the street.

The updated plans also propose an updated design for the main facades, following recommendations the building should better align with the character of the neighbourhood given its location within the Paddington Heritage Conservation Area.

The Hakoah Club broke ground on its $95m project, located next to Sydney Grammar School, in September 2022.
