Police are investigating British rapper Wiley after he posted a series of anti-Semitic tweets over the weekend, sparking swift outrage.
UK police are investigating British rapper Wiley after he made a series of anti-Semitic tweets over the weekend, resulting in him being dropped by his manager and banned from Twitter.
The grime artist, 41, shared conspiracy theories and made a string of comments on Twitter branding Jewish people “too touchy”.
In one tweet he said: “I don’t care about Hitler, I care about black people”, and also compared the Jewish community to the Ku Klux Klan.
He revealed on Monday he had been banned temporarily from the social media site following uproar from fans.
The Metropolitan Police have now said they had received a number of reports about the tweets and are investigating.
A spokesperson told The Sun: “The Met takes all reports of anti-Semitism extremely seriously. The relevant material is being assessed.”
It comes as Wiley’s manager, John Woolf, confirmed A-List Management had “cut all ties” with the Wearing My Rolex star.
Mr Woolf, who is Jewish, wrote on Twitter on Saturday: “Following Wiley’s antisemitic tweets today we at @A_ListMGMT have cut all ties with him. There is no place in society for antisemitism.”
