Sydney’s Jewish community has condemned activists who have tried to blame the Christchurch terror attack on Israel.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Chief executive Vic Alhadeff said the comments would “incite violence against Jews”.
Mr Alhadeff’s comments were made in response to a video filmed in Auckland which showed a man blame the shooting on “Mossad” and “Zionist business”.
The man from the group Love Aotearoa Hate Racism said he suspected the shooter was funded by Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.
“I stand here and I say I have a very strong suspicion that there’s some group behind him and I am not afraid to say I feel Mossad is behind this,” he said.
In the background another member of the group yells “It’s the truth. Israel is behind this”.
The allegations, which are entirely false, have upset the world’s Jewish population which has been busily raising funds for victims of the attack.
